Mackay Breast Cancer Support Group

A newly formed breast cancer support group, led by a breast cancer survivor, in Mackay for women of all ages with breast cancer or ovarian cancer and survivors, at any stage of the cancer journey. Attendees are welcomed from Mackay, Sarina, Whitsundays, Nebo and surrounding areas.

The group will hold a monthly support group meeting in Mackay on the second Saturday of the month at 10:30am to 12:30pm in the QCWA Hall, 43 Gordon Street, Mackay QLD

The monthly meeting is an opportunity for women to connect and share their cancer journey, in a welcoming, private and supportive space, allowing women a voice to share and receive support from others in the same circumstances

Catherine McGregor runs the support group after returning to Mackay is starting this support group, where women going through the breast cancer journey can feel less alone and give and receive support to each other. Catherine was diagnosed with breast cancer four years ago in 2015 and her journey included chemo, mastectomy, axillary clearance and radiation. As a survivor herself, Catherine understands first-hand the breast cancer journey
