Cancer Council WA

Cancer Council Australia is the overarching cancer support organisation. Each state has their own Cancer Council services with different programs.

Programs and services offered by Cancer Council WA include:

Pro bono services

4 pro bono programs including

• the Legal Referral Services such as wills, powers of attorney, early access to superannuation, insurance claims and disputes, employment issues and other disputes
• Financial Planning Referral Services such as Centrelink payments, superannuation and insurance, estate planning and restructuring income and assets.
• the Workplace Advisory Service helps manage workplace issues before, during and after treatment and transition back into the workforce after treatment.
• the Small Business Advice Service helps with access to free assistance to manage their small business after a diagnosis.

Cancer Council WA Practical Assistance Program

• This program provides short term assistance for patients undergoing treatment or management of cancer or who have completed their cancer treatment in the last six months. This program can assist in areas such as light domestic cleaning, gardening and child care services.

Financial Assistance

• Limited financial assistance is available through Cancer Council WA to eligible cancer patients who are undergoing active treatment and who meet the criteria.

Other services provided by Cancer Council WA include Life Now exercise and meditative courses, accommodation, support group, counselling and wig service.
