Thursday Girls Advanced Breast Cancer Support Group

Thursday Girls Group is a therapeutic support program for women with metastatic breast cancer (MBC) facilitated by two experienced social workers – Marg Haywood and Sue Fisher.

There are currently 2 weekly groups for women – one of which is a face to face group (COVID willing) held in the eastern suburbs of Melbourne – in  Blackburn North.  The second group is held entirely via Zoom.  This Thursday Girls Zoom Group is suitable for women with MBC no matter where they live, and it is also suitable for those who cannot easily travel or prefer the online format. There is also a monthly group for partners of these women.

The groups provide a safe, supportive space for dealing with the challenges of living with metastatic breast cancer. Contact, support and socialization outside these group settings is encouraged.
