Registered Nurse-Lymphoedema Therapy

Thorough intake assessment using the Lymbase software developed by NSW Health. Manual lymphatic drainage. Systematic measurement of whole of limb, both oedematous and unaffected as baseline and then at regular intervals. Application of 2-layer or multi-layer bandaging as required. Measuring for and prescription of compression garments/wraps and accessories. Regular periodic monitoring of oedema reduction (if caught early) or management of stages 2 and 3. Regular monitoring also for comfort and quality of life. Assistance with access to Enable NSW. Access to health fund rebates for some services depending on level of cover.
Liaison with the Lymphoedema Clinic at Shoalhaven Hospital and the client's medical practitioners on a regular basis.
