The Victorian Adolescent and Young Adult (AYA) Cancer Service is a team of health professionals who work with young people aged 15 to 25 living with cancer. Based at Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre in Melbourne, we work directly with young people or alongside other cancer specialists to ensure all aspects of a young person’s health and wellbeing are attended to both during treatment and in the years beyond. ReGenerate was developed to assist young people after cancer treatment through the provision of information and self-directed support that can be accessed easily and conveniently. With funding generously provided by the Victorian Department of Health and Human Services, the app was developed in partnership with young people, Fika Entertainment and Deakin University. While ReGenerate is specific to Australia, we expect that much of the content will be relevant to young people in other countries around the world. While it is important to remember that this app serves as a general resource and does not replace the need for personalised medical, legal or financial advice, we hope it helps to answer at least some of your questions and supports you in living your best life after treatment.
