Our group meets once a month and is an open group. “Open” means that there is a mix of new and regular group attendees each month and the number of women in this group can vary from 4 to 10 on average. Our group uses shared experience, peer support and occasional education to assist with ongoing adjustment and coping, to living with metastatic breast cancer. The aim of the group is to provide an opportunity for women to talk about the emotional and psychological challenges of living with metastatic breast cancer. Please note this is not a drop in group. Potential members need to register and how some pre-education regarding the group and their expectations and so the venue, date and time details are not given out prior to this. Patients from other hospitals will be accepted into the group where appropriate.
