As an Occupational Therapist with additional training in menopause and menopause coaching, I provide individual support to women and their carers navigating menopause, whether it occurs naturally, or as a result of medical treatment, surgery, or genetic predisposition. For women affected by breast cancer, this transition can be sudden and overwhelming, with symptoms that are not only life-changing but may compound the challenges of cancer treatment and recovery.
I offer a safe and supportive space to acknowledge these experiences and provide practical, evidence-based strategies to manage both the physical and emotional impacts of menopause. My care is client-centred and holistic, focusing on:
• Emotional adjustment support to navigate identity, body image, and role changes.
• Practical strategies for daily living, such as pacing, energy conservation, meal preparation, sleep support, and movement.
• Evidence-based approaches including cognitive-behavioural strategies, stress reduction, sleep support, movement, meal preparation and lifestyle modification.
• Adaptations to routines, environments, and roles to help women sustain meaningful occupations during and after cancer treatment.
I recognise that some women need additional support at this time. My role is to empower them, helping restore balance, confidence, and participation in what matters most, even when layered impacts of menopause and cancer feel overwhelming.
