Founded by Jo Gniel, landscape of life integrates the paradigms and practices of modern psychology and neuroscience, Western relational psychology and Eastern contemplative practice to help people develop a better understanding of themselves and others, navigate the challenges and transitions of life and make the changes they want in life.

While most couples are able to weather the storms associated with a breast cancer diagnosis and treatment, it may feel like life has been turned upside down. Marital or couple relationships in which one partner has been diagnosed with breast cancer experience incredible stressors within their relationship.

Breast Cancer affects couples physically, psychologically, emotionally and spiritually. There are role changes, the language of oncology to translate and numerous caregiving tasks. When a couple shares closeness and security in their connection with each other, the relationship can provide a resource to buffer the effects of breast cancer for both the individual diagnosed and their partner. The couple becomes a source of emotional support for each other.

Some relationships haven’t evolved in this way. Relationship Counselling can help you heal past hurts, strengthen trust, re-discover intimacy and your sexuality and develop a relationship that looks very different to the one that you know now.

Jo Gniel is a certified Emotionally Focused Therapist for individuals, couples, and families and a trained teacher of Mindful Self-Compassion. Her interest is in supporting the development of relationships as a resource to cope with life transitions, especially changes in intimacy, sexuality and identity following a cancer diagnosis.
