As a cancer survivor of many years, I have a deep empathy for those diagnosed with cancer and their loved ones and am passionate about helping them to maximise their quality of life and emotional well-being both during and beyond their cancer experience.
As a masters-qualified counsellor and educator, I draw from a range of evidence-based interventions to support healing and emotional well-being. I offer individual counselling and education around managing the emotional impacts of cancer for the patient or their family members, either face-to-face on the Sunshine Coast in Queensland, or throughout Australia via telephone or online appointments.
As research has shown Mindfulness to be particularly helpful in reducing the fear, anxiety and overwhelm which often accompany a cancer experience, and improving emotional health and well-being, I also facilitate Beginners’ Mindfulness courses either individually or in small groups. These are offered both face-to-face, as well as online.
I would love to walk beside you as you navigate your own unique cancer experience - to provide compassion, support and a listening ear; to help you to process what you have been through or continue to go through; and to maximise your emotional health and well-being.
