The goal of The PINC Program is to help women recovering from breast cancer surgery or treatments by offering personalised therapeutic programs. These include a complementary blend of pilates, physiotherapy, massage, stretching & breathing techniques. The Next Steps Program is also an option, which is a specialised group exercise program, combining pilates, yoga and cardiovascular exercises for a workout that is specifically designed to help women rebuild their strength, flexibility and stamina after cancer treatments.
Research shows that exercise can help reduce the risk of a recurrence and improve the quality of life of a person diagnosed with cancer. A report by Macmillan Cancer Support in the UK states that all patients getting cancer treatment should be told to do two and a half hours of physical exercise every week.
These sessions are fully claimable on private health or else with medicare if you have an EPC referral from your GP.
