Our impact

Despite progress in breast cancer care over the past decades, gaps and inconsistencies in treatment, care and support remain. Our role in advocacy is critical to improving outcomes for all people affected by breast cancer.

Breast Cancer Network Australia is a leader in consumer-led advocacy in the cancer and wider health sector. We strive to be the sought-after voice on topics relating to breast cancer policy, research and service or program development for government, health service providers, researchers, and the broader community to build greater connection between decision making and lived experience.

Our 25-year history has seen our impact include new drugs and treatments included for government subsidy, reduction in out-of-pocket costs for tests and imaging, and advocacy towards improved cancer data collection and reporting.
