At BCNA's Annual General Meeting today, Surgical Oncologist Professor Bruce Mann retired from the Board after 9 years' service. We are so grateful to Bruce for his commitment and passion for BCNA and our purpose. We know he will continue to remain a friend of BCNA.
I am thrilled to inform you that we have filled two vacant positions on the Board with two outstanding individuals - Emma Warnecke and Stuart Diver.
When considering the mix of skills on the Board we were keen to bring in a General Practitioner, given the critical role they play in care. Therefore, we were absolutely thrilled that Emma was interested in joining the Board given she brings her GP credentials along with her lived experience of breast cancer. She joins our other medical practitioner who has also lived experience, Dr Mellissa Naidoo.
Stuart joins the Board after over five years as an Ambassador for BCNA. During this time Stuart has shared his story of the importance of carers reaching out for information and emotional support in a powerful way through our events and the media. Recently, Stuart indicated that he would like to contribute even more, and we are delighted that he has joined the Board. As well as his lived experience, Stuart brings deep managerial and stakeholder experience as the General Manager for Thredbo Alpine Resort, where he has responsibility for over 1200 people.
