This week is National Advance Care Planning Week
This week, 1-5 April 2019, is National Advance Care Planning Week.
Advance care planning enables people to have a say in the medical care they receive if they become too unwell to speak for themselves. It gives them options and a voice, regardless of what the future brings.
While advance care planning is important for everyone, it is particularly important for people living with cancer.
Our experience tells us that it is much easier to have conversations about the end of your life when you are well. Breast Cancer Network Australia is encouraging women and men living with breast cancer to start these conversations today.
As an organisation, Breast Cancer Network Australia supports people with breast cancer to live life to the fullest, regardless of where they are in their cancer journey. Living well with cancer means making informed choices about your treatment and planning ahead.
You can get free advice from Advance Care Planning Australia on 1300 208 582 (9.00 am - 5.00 pm Monday to Friday) and at acpweek.org.au.
