Hangar2Hangar - 430km, 3 days, one cause

BCNA News 03 Sep 2018

15 staff members of Alliance Airlines have just completed a 430 km bike ride through North Queensland to raise an amazing $62,000 for BCNA.

The concept of Hangar2Hangar was developed by Adelaide flight attendant Heidi Theunens, who had never even owned a proper bike but she had a passion to help raise awareness about breast cancer.

Last Friday after a lot of training Heidi, Alliance Airlines CEO Lee Schofield and colleagues from around Australia were waved off by BCNA CEO Kirsten Pilatti from the Alliance hangar in Cairns and over three days rode through towns including Mission Beach and Ingham to finish yesterday at the Alliance hangar in Townsville.

Their efforts have helped to increase awareness of the issues facing those with breast cancer in regional areas. Thank you to everyone who volunteered their time and legs to make this ride a great success.
