Private health insurance bill shock
Breast Cancer Network Australia (BCNA) is pleased to welcome a report from the Prostate Cancer Foundation on Private health insurance bill shock: what can insurers do to help? This report looks at the financial impacts of all types of cancer and ways that private health insurers can help.
We are aware that the financial impacts of breast cancer are significant. Our membership over the years have told us that the costs of treatment and care for breast cancer can stretch many people’s budgets to breaking point. Expenses can quickly add up to thousands of dollars and impact people and their loved ones in both the short and long-term.
You may be aware that BCNA has recently conducted a survey into the financial costs of breast cancer. The results of this survey will be used by BCNA to help determine the priorities for improving the financial journey of people with breast cancer. We are looking forward to releasing our report later this year.
