Pink Bun Campaign raises $1.5 million for BCNA!
We are delighted to announce that this year’s Pink Bun Campaign has raised an incredible $1.5 million for BCNA and Australians affected by breast cancer.
The 2016 campaign has reached its fundraising target of $1.5 million after almost 600 bakeries nationwide ‘pinked up’ from 21 April – 11 May and donated 100% of the sale of Pink Buns directly to BCNA.
BCNA CEO, Christine Nolan said she was thrilled with the result from this year’s Pink Bun Campaign, which provides vital funding to BCNA and in particular supports the My Journey Kit, a free information resource provided to people newly diagnosed with breast cancer.
'On behalf of BCNA and all Australians affected by breast cancer, I want to thank Bakers Delight, the franchisees and their staff, and the whole community for their support during the Pink Bun Campaign,' Christine said.
'Every year we are astounded by the enthusiasm of Bakers Delight and by the generosity of contributions made in the bakeries.
'It is the spirit and dedication shown by Bakers Delight and the community that brings the Pink Bun Campaign to life, and we are so grateful for the support it receives each year,' she added.
Each year BCNA sends out more than 12,000 My Journey Kits free of charge to people when they are newly diagnosed with breast cancer, thanks to the support of Bakers Delight and the Pink Bun Campaign. The My Journey Kit reaches more than 80 per cent of people when they are first diagnosed with breast cancer.
The BCNA and Bakers Delight partnership is now in its 16th year and over that time more than $16 million has been donated to support all Australians affected by breast cancer.
