Special Guest Speakers
Ita Buttrose AO, OBE
Co-host Studio 10
Ita Buttrose AO, OBE is a truly exceptional Australian: a legendary media trailblazer, businesswoman, best-selling author, committed community and welfare contributor and the former 2013 Australian of the Year. She currently co-hosts Studio 10 on Network TEN.
She has enjoyed a distinguished media career. After creating Cleo magazine, she became the youngest-ever editor of The Australian Women’s Weekly and later the first woman to edit a major metropolitan newspaper in Australia as editor-in-chief of the Daily & Sunday Telegraphs. She was made an Officer of the Order of Australia (AO) for her services to the community, especially in the field of public health education, for spearheading Australia’s HIV/AIDS education program, received an OBE (Officer of the Order of the British Empire) for her services to journalism and a Centenary Medal for business leadership.
Thredbo Operations Manager
Most Australians remember Stuart Diver as the sole survivor of the 1997 Thredbo landslide. However, many don’t know that 18 years after his wife Sally was killed in the landslide, Stuart’s second wife, Rosanna, died from breast cancer. Despite the challenges he’s faced, Stuart still makes time to support organisations like BCNA, while juggling raising his seven-year-old daughter Alessia and working as Resort Operations Manager at Thredbo Resort. Stuart inspires others as he speaks openly and honestly about how he’s coped with adversity and still makes the most of every day.
