Australian Government Private Health Insurance Consultations 2015-16

BCNA has made a submission to the Australian Government’s Private Health Insurance Consultations 2015-16.

The Consultations are part of a wide ranging review of Australia’s health services aimed at ensuring that Australians can access affordable, quality and timely health services into the future.

In our submission, BCNA has called for change in three key areas to better support Australians diagnosed with breast cancer who have private health insurance and choose to have their treatment in the private health system:

  • Measures to reduce the gaps in cover for listed items
  • Radiotherapy treatment to be covered by private health insurance
  • Improved transparency of private health insurance plan

BCNA thanks our Consumer Representatives Leanne Carlson and Mandy Forteath for reviewing our submission and providing feedback.
