AC chemo round 1

Posted by LouiseTurner on 19 Aug 2012, 08:45PM

Hi ya ladies,

This feels wrong......I had my first round of AC last Friday morning. That went well I guess, bit worried how the nurse had to gown up to get the drugs in though. Vicious stuff I guess.

I had a hard time Friday night throwing up and generally feeling crappy and hot as waves of poison went through the system. I slept really well though and have been pretty good since.....am I speaking too soon?

Yesterday I did some weeding in the morning, then when the Dex kicked in I cleaned the bathroom cupboards. Today I sat about having breakfast in the garden, then had the inlaws over for lunch, then visitors in the afternoon.

All this time I have been expecting to crash......might this still come this round? Or will I just get hit harder next round?

Hi Louie - I found AC not to bad, I worked for 3 days after it but found around day 4 once I stopped the dex i felt extremely tired and angry.  This only lasted for 1 or 2 days max .  My sleeping patterns got really mix up as well couldn't sleep at night but could sleep all day.   I never felt sick with it at all thank goodness, but everyone is different.  How many rounds do you need to have - I had 9.

Thanks for you response, I feel fragile today, bit slower but still early. Try to get up as it feels better than staying in bed. You seem to have done well on 9 sessions, I am only having 4 of this then 12 taxol.

Hopefully I will continue like you did.

Louise

Good luck Louise

Great new Louise, and hopefully your treatment will continue with you not feeling too bad. the important thing to remember is to report all your symptoms to your specialist, and of course look after yourself, and don't push it, We all react differently to medication, so here's to you feeling okay. Keep in touch with us all on here and let us know how you are doing. Regards Moira
