Anyone else experienced extremely heavy periods while on chemo? I am 46 and my oncologist said chemo would probably put me into early menopause so I wasn't expecting a period at all. Now I am having the heaviest period of my life! If it wasn't Sunday I'd ring the clinic as it's a bit disconcerting.

Hi Janet,
I was told that if I ever had any issues I could call the ward of Maroondah Hospital as thats where I have been an in patient, if you are worried about your extra heavy period call the hospital where you have gotten treatment and speak to an oncology nurse.

Janet I am also 46 & finished chemo in Dec. I also had the heaviest period of my life in between my first & second chemo which lasted for about 10 days (usually 4 days & very light !) & that was the last one I had !!! Blood tests now say menopause but even so the onc will wait before switching me from Tamoxifen .......to be sure ....to be sure.
Janet. YES! Mine lasted 2weeks OMG HELL lol... and very heavy and unpredictable. very unusual for me. ONC said first one can be like that. let them know anyway. But I wouldnt worry! Xoxo

Thank for your replies Sam, Carmel & Tracey. It's does reassure me that I'm not the only one this has happened to. It does seem to be easing up a bit today thank goodness. I'll see how it goes. Will call the nurse if it gets ridiculously heavy again.
