Indole 3 carbinol

I'm wondering whether there are any women out there who are taking indole 3 carbinol instead of tamoxifen? If there are, have you noticed any side effects from I3C and what has your oncologist's attitude been towards it? Is there anyone taking I3C with tamoxifen? I've read online, at a cancer research site, that they can work "co-operatively".

I'm not taking either just yet but I'm due to start tamoxifen soon and I'm really worried about the side effects. I will give it go - maybe I'll be lucky and not get the side effects.

Radiotherapy with wig on?

This will probably sound like a vain and trivial question but it's been playing on my mind. I'm due to start radiotherapy soon and I have no hair due to chemo. Will I have to take my wig off while I have the radiotherapy.? If I do, can I wear a beanie or something. I feel so naked without something on my head. Can anyone who has been down the chemo followed by radiotherapy path fill me in on this?

Heavy period

Anyone else experienced extremely heavy periods while on chemo? I am 46  and my oncologist said chemo would probably put me into early menopause so I wasn't expecting a period at all. Now I am having the heaviest period of my life! If it wasn't Sunday I'd ring the clinic as it's a bit disconcerting.

Hating this chemo crap

The hardest thing about all this is that I before it, I felt so good.  I exercised, ate well, worked hard at being healthy. The day before my surgery I was jogging on a tread-mill feeling (physically) fantastic.

Almost 3 months later my health is being rapidly eroded by these filthy toxic drugs I am obliged to ingest.

I know there are good reasons for them, I know they may lengthen my life but with each new symptom I am forced to put up I can’t help feeling that modern medicine is still at a pretty blunt tool.

Catching a cold on chemo

I'm wondering if anyone has any any advice on how to avoid catching a cold while on chemo or experience of what happens if you do get one.

My 3 school-age kids keep coming home with sore throats, coughs and sniffles. I'm using every anti-bactieria/ disinfectant product available to man - hand-wash, air-freshener, surface sprays, floor cleaner etc and I've asked my kids to be careful to cover their mouths, wash their hand etc but I'm worried that my luck is going to run out at some stage.
