Finally finished my 12 rounds of taxol on the 3rd December, have my first radiation session tonight.  I did really well on the taxol, minimal side effects other than fatigue.  My hair even started growing back about 4 weeks into it.  Strange thing is though my  eyebrows and eyelashes fell out completely a few days after Xmas (about 3 weeks after my last chemo!).  I was pretty surprised by this (not that you could tell by looking at me, lol no eyebrow joke) however after reading up on it this happens to a lot of women after taxol.

Finished my 4 x 3 weekly rounds of AC, doing it tough at the moment but all in all have been very lucky with side effects etc.  Nausea, headaches, insomnia, no taste etc but kept what I could under control with the drugs they give us.  Start 12 lots of weekly taxol in a couple of weeks, was hoping that life would get back to 'normal' a bit more, but then of course I went and googled and found a lot of women that found taxol heaps worse than the ac, so now Im not so confident.  Like everyone I will just have to wait and see.

The Drain Diary (cont) . . .

Finally, after 8 weeks, my blasted drain has come out!  My output never waivered (still having over 130ml per day when it happened), but the decision was taken out of my surgeons hands when the stitch holding it in broke and it started coming out on its own.  So when the drain fell through the bottom of the bag, Monday morning while madly trying to get ready to go and have my chemo, I bit the bullet and pulled the last bit of it out.  Took off the bag, and FINALLY became unplugged!

Drain, Drain, go away . . .

I'm only just starting my trip down BC Lane, and find I have a lot of questions.  This network has been a great way to talk to other women going through the same issues, and a point of contact I just couldnt get any other way.
