Hi Ann

I think from memory it was about $90 each time....can't be certain though!  My memory isn't so good since chemo :)

Hi Ann

I didn't pay anything, my health fund must have covered the balance after medicare.

I am going Public not Private and have just lost my Sick Allowance from Centrelink and because of that Centrelink had to cancel mySick Allowance Health Care Card which helped reduce my Pharmacy payments.  That is why I am wanting to know what I will be charged (more or less) tomorrow.  Ann

free for me

Everything seems to be free for me - I pay nothing for any of the treatments, but I elected private so I guess it'sall covered by my fund.

It should be free for everyone regardless. We didn't ask for this disease.

Hi Ann

I think I paid approx $35 through public system every time.  The actual injections cost is about $1325?? but thank god we only pay a portion of that.

Not a damn thing, went public and all for free.

More of you should look into going public at least for hospital.

Cheers

Thanks Cheryl, does that mean that you never paid for tablets, etc? Ann

Hi Ann,

I didn't have to pay anything for mine or for my tablets.
Sorry you're sick allowance has been cancelled. The rules around services etc. seem a little warped at times.
Good luck for your treatment.

I pay minimal for all my pharmacy prescriptions even though I am a private patient.  My medical fund wont reimburse me as the cost is below the gov. set price so I am keeping the receipts and I will claim a percentage on my tax.  If your benefits have been cancelled make sure you contact Medicare and get your safety net "switched on" so you can get some relief financially.

Thanks Skettie, just to clarify re the cancellation of my Sick Allowance it was because my Income Protecttion was finally approved. If you don't mind me asking are you Public or Private?

Serenity, thank you for that info re Medicare, I think my safety net is on but I will check up.

Hi Ann,

I did my treatment publically. Since finishing I've switched over to private for my follow ups etc.
