Ok it's been a while. Hope you are all well.
I had a bunch of my best friends over last night, including my hairdresser. Went from armpit length hair to pixi short.
Lots of champaign, lots of laughs, a couple of tears.
I thought it would upset me, but taking control is very liberating and you know what, I actually look pretty good with short hair.
Chemo starts Friday, bring it on.

HAIR
Hi , I have also cut my hair into a bob ,I had my first Chemo 2 weeks ago and my hair has just started to fall out ,so i think i will get a pixie cut as well on friday ..... the hair all over the house is driving me mad .
Step by step
I never thought i would say i am relieved to be starting chemo next week but i just want to get on with it. My daughter's wedding is 10 days after starting chemo so hopefully my hair will all be there for the photos. I have been getting it shorter and shorter in preparation...
I would love to know peoples views on wigs. I have bought scarves and hats but can't get my head around the thought of wearing a wig. Anyone else feel the same?
Hi , my hair started falling out around day 15 after my first treatment,so you may be okay for wedding, my nephew is getting married on saturday and i have a lovely wig already for the occasion , i am also getting my makeup done to make me feel better, the only thing i'm worried about is people i haven't seen for a while may notice my wig then i will have to tell them about my BC , what do you do ?
I have purchsed wigs and have been wearing them ,i think its important to get one that suits you and once you wear it a couple of times you will get used to it ,i have actually had a lot of compliments whilst wearing my wig.
Around the house i wear a cap as its more comfortable.
Good luck with wedding
Hi Linda,
Thats great news!!! I am so happy that you were able to turn it into a positive experience.
I bet you look amazing with your pixie cut!!! I had long hair all my life, so like you when i cut it short i felt very liberated and was quite surpirsed i actually like having short hair now.
I wish you all the very best for chemo on friday. Goodluck xx

Hello
Hello, I like your attitude, yes take charge. There will be times where you just have to go with the flow. You will find your balance. There are many many wonerful ladies here that will share and listen.
I personally did not wear a wig. I had my hair cut short and as it started to fall out after my second chemo, I would pull it out by hand in clumps before a shower. I now have a new hairdo (pixie cut). I wore lots of beanies, hats and scarves. Just not the wig type, found it all too difficult.
I do recommend the 'Look Good Feel Well' workshop and take a friend along.
All the very best. Maria333
