Em's Journey
Hi All,
I haven't been on here for some time - life sure is hectic!
I am very pleased to report that I concluded my treatment on 12th January this year which was such a relief for me! The radiation was nearly as bad as Chemo..... I was sooooo burnt!!! I am healing nicely and am looking forward to discussing my reconstruction options with my breast surgeon and plastic surgeon.
Special day for me - last Chemotherapy treatment!
What a big day it has been!!! Exactly five months (to the day!) after receiving my diagnosis I completed my very last Chemotherapy treatment and please hope and pray this was the very last one.... forever. Although I am feeling really tired and lethargic tonight I am dancing inside knowing that I made it through this gruelling treatment. I had 6 sessions held at the Mount Hospital in Perth under Prof Arlene Chan - the best!
Pathology results received....
Hi All,
Thanks once again for your amazing love and support via this fantastic BCNA website :)
The waiting game is over as I received my pathology results yesterday. Not the outcome I was hoping but I need to try and remain positive.
This is all new to me....help!
Hi Everyone, It has been an extremely emotional week for both myself, my husband and my family. On Thursday 16th June 2011 I received the news from my GP that I have breast cancer (stage 2 - high grade). This news was completely unexpected and I went completely numb.... it honestly felt like a bad dream. A 2cm lump was found in my right breast with 3 other smaller cancers also found in the same breast (ranging from 0.6cm to 1.2cm in size). My surgeon (Dr Willsher at Mount Hospital in Perth) decided to perform a mastectomy on my right breast.
