Lung nodules
Morning ladies,
It has been ages since I have put a post up but I regularly check in to make sure all my pink sisters are doing ok!
I am now living in country Victoria after my husband told me the marrage was over (app he found my cancer journey all too confronting!) I had to go to hospital on Monday as I was feeling faint, breathless and my heart was racing. 3 days in High Dependancy and now on a beta blocker to slow my heart rate.
On my discharge summary it says they found multiple nodule in both lungs! freaking out !!!!
Concert for BCNA
Hi Girls I know this is short notice and nearly Christmas but.... on Sunday 16th of Dec there will be a fundraising concert at the Mentone RSL ( Palermo St Mentone Vic. The band Born n' Bred will be playing in preperation for Going to Bendamer NSW ! 50 % of all door sales will be going to the BCNA (the other 50% to a breast cancer support group ) Born n' Bred are a fantastic country music group who have just signed a record deal in Nashville and are worth a look, as well as raising some money for a great cause.
Last herceptin
Well it is my last herceptin treatment tomorrow ! and its been a very stressful day today. I have very mixed feelings about coming to the end of 15mths of 3 weekly treatments. The nurses in day oncology are angels, I would not have been able to get through this without them. My breast care nurse has been my closest confidant , a woman who has given me my voice. I feel like I am being put on a raft and pushed out to sea. to see how well I go ! I know that my med onc is always there and I will be montored closely and all the signs are good but.....I am still very frightened.
Reconstruction
Its been a while since I have written on my blog. I have been reading some posts by some wonderfully brave ladies xxx I am about to finish my herceptin and have very mixed feelings about that ! I was just wondering if there are any of you out there who have chosen not to have a reconstruction after a mastectomy ? Everyone I know has started their reconstructions and I feel quite odd that I dont want have one . I am just not ready to have more operations but more importantly I feel that my new body is fine.
Results in
Wow what a week! kept myself very busy so as to not dwell on my test results. All clear thank goodness just some fluid around the mastectomy scar . Although I do have some inflamation and infection in my right lung, but I can deal with that ! But on more important news!! I went to the Dragon Boat regatta at Falls Creek, what a weekend. Lots af paddling, dancing, drinking the odd glass of bubbles and LOTS of laughter. We were in 3 events with 2 heats for each event, and yay we made it into 2 finals. Came 2nd in the pink ribbon race, for survivors . Then came 3rd in the open womens race!
