My story
I was diagnosed with early breast cancer on the 22/2/11 - I am 38 - a wife and mother to three children. I have a her2 positive cancer that has also been found in my lymph nodes - it was classed as grade 3.
I am having a mastectomy and axilla node clearance and insertion of a tissue expander on the 2/3/11.
I started Chemo on the 30th March - I am doing the PACS-01 Protocol which is 3*FEC and 3*Taxotere - Herceptin is being added to the mix from the Taxotere on and will be for 17 treatments.
I had a portacath inserted prior to my second chemo and all seems to be going well so far.
Not quite the journey that I expected to be on right now but one I am taking nevertheless! Wonder where it will lead me?
Love sharing with the other ladies here. Amanda xx

The Good Things
I love reading the comments that people write on my blogs - for me writing is a brain dump. Often I feel the need to dump when something is playing on my mind - usually these are the more difficult things to nut out. I less frequently feel the need to brain dump about the good stuff. It came to me though, as I read your comments that perhaps you see a skewed version of me. That's ok. I feel it is greatly important to share the downs and the ups of living with advanced BC, the realities of it because I spend so much energy of staying UP!
My best friend
I realised that I very rarely write about my husband. There are many reasons for this. He is private. I don't feel I have as much right to share about him here as I do my children and I - I respect this.
Sometimes...
Sometimes life with cancer just becomes life with cancer. There is no light at the end of the tunnel, no time to move on - its just life with cancer. You do your best to live well.
Ups and downs
It's been a while since posting. It's been busy. It's been up and down.
My gorgeous little man turned 6 and started Prep. He is exhausted with trying to sit still and concentrate but he is doing so well. He is so keen to be a big boy and rumble with the big boys at school.
This is his first full week and we've done a deal on an earlier bedtime in return for participating in afterschool sport once a week (preps are exempt).
RIP Tracey
It's been a big week in our household with my youngest, my son turning 6 and starting Prep. I planned to honor him with a post today but woke up to hear that our dear friend and fellow network member Tracey has died overnight.
