I spend my days alternating between being too hot and too cold. I guess I have hot flushes but are cold flushes a thing as well? Or is it just I get cold because I've been sweating and have taken off a layer of clothes during the hot flush?

Hot flushes
Hi Allicat, I've been wondering the very same thing, infact I looked up cold flashes the other day to find that they do exist as well as the hot ones. Like you, I'm not sure whether I'm having them or just freezing because I have thrown all my blankets off and then fallen asleep, only to awake frozen sometime later. I am really over all these hot and cold flushes, and wonder if they will ever end. I'm 53 and have had them for several years while pre menopausal. I tried all the natural things, but nothing worked for very long. I finally went on HRT after a normal mammogram and enjoyed 3 months of no hot flushes. Then I found out I had breast cancer, so had to stop. Now after the chemo and tamoxifen I'm fully menopausal, but I'm still getting them. I'm now on femara, and they have changed in intensity, and are back with avengance, hot and cold. Oh, what fun.

hot & cold
me too! It's not because you've thrown the blankets off -- I've woken up (under the covers) in a freezing cold sweat many many times. They started with AC chemo, and now it's just a regular thing. And yep, I get the hot ones too...
I'm going to ask around to see if there are any dietary/exercise options to help the body thermostat regulate itself better. Meanwhile it's hot water bottles one minute and ceiling fans the next lol
hey ladies, these hot flushes drive me mad from one extreme to the other ,its " from the chemo A.C and Taxol i finished chemo feb this year , every time the heating goes on im fighting with the family to have it off although they understand, when im not looking it goes on lol ..i"d rather have blanket on me to watch TV than heater , at least i can kool down quicker with no heating i can throw the blanket off ....
hot/cold
I have found all these comments interesting, as I thought I was the only one have cold & hot episodes. I also have no tolerance to cool air on my head even though I now have thick hair at last, & need to wear a hat at times when the air temp isn't that cool. I make sure I always have a hat with me & tend to wear light layers with a coat & scarf so that I can adjust quickly if needed.
