My story
My first BC diagnosis at 45 was in 1999 ,lumpectomy,chemo and radiotherapy. It took 12 months out of my life to gain some sort of myself again , but then I found Dragonboating and I just love paddling such an opportunity to make new friends and network all over the world. Just before my 10th anniversay 2009 my ultrasound found DCIS in the right breast this time, atter 3 surgeries had a mastecomy . Luckily this time i only needed to be on Femara for 5 years , but after 3months, was not my happy self , so ended up on antidepressants and changed to Tamoxifen. I have been having my medical checks so far so good but side effects of our drugs are just not good sometimes . Hopefully some maybe symptoms of get.ting older . I had gone from taking nothing 2 years ago to taking 4 lots of drugs a day.... plus vitamins,.darn expensive..I have some genetic testing done through family due to , aunt and 2 cousins having BC but not BRAC1or@2 could be one that hasnt been discovered yet...
