My story

Had a routine mammogram by breast scan. Have had previous cysts needle biopsied with no problems but new I had a history so made sure to have regular mammograms. thank god I did. Results required further testing at westmead hosp. ended up being there 6 hours and a core biopsy later was sent home. Some notice of what to expect on the day would have been helpful as I had a 2 year old with me. 2 weeks later was told I had DCIS and was referred to a surgeon in my local area. One look at the results and was having a lumpectomy the next week. One week on and pathology detected a small invasive cancer. So now its on to a mastectomy  on one side (my choice) on the 6th Oct. Doctor recommended radiotherapy but I dont feel this is a good option as both my breasts are "unstable" (drs words).
