Hi to all my pink girlfriends.I'm back home after having a great trip to Europe. We only had 2 days of rain in total(almost 6wks away).Infact Europe was having a snap heatwave so lucky weatherwise. We loved Vienna,Saltzburg and Paris.I went to the top of the Eiffel tower and visited Monet's garden -both on my bucket list! We toured Germany, did a Greek island cruise then flew to Istanbul where we took a tour down to Gallipoli (on my husband's bucket list!)We broke the long flight back by having 3 nights in Dubai. What an interesting city and omg,the shopping!

Tamoxifen and long flights

I have just had a full week of checkups and tests. You girls know the drill - pap test, blood tests galore, hip xray(cos it's been aching for months) and finishing with the oncologist"s visit today. I am soooo relieved that everything came back normal. My oncologist is keeping me on Tamoxifen and doesn't want to see me now for 12mths - which is always a good sign! Hubby and I fly off to Europe in March for 5 weeks so I asked my oncologist if I should stop Tamoxifen prior the long flight.

Finally in the spa

We have been in our new house for 3months now and the paving is finished and our spa finally connected. We thought this day would never come but it did. Hubby and I sat in our spa with a glass of champagne and all jets on full bore! It was great and all the aches and pains disolved away. Now I don't know if that was the spa or the champagne.

Did I say "happy days"in my last blog??We have been in our new house now for 6 weeks and it's still total chaos.Carpets in,fences up,foxtel on, antenna on the roof(hubby's priorities),flyscreens and blinds done, pergola up,garden shed up,ikea furniture put together(I went out that day).Just waiting on some more furniture now and the big finale - paving and landscaping.None of this has gone smoothly -antenna guy accidentally put a big hole in the wall, one of the pergola posts is not straight, some furniture is on it's way back to China due to being a totally different colour. My husband has acc

We have now moved into our new house after being on a blow up mattress at our daughter's place for 4 weeks. All our "stuff"was in storage and we now have the job of unpacking boxes. The most annoying things have been  waiting for a landline, a computerline and tv reception but all's well now. The house is lovely(no stairs)and the neighbours are nice -so happy days!

Hi everyone

We are out of our house now and I miss our computer(locked away in a garage). So have come to the library for a quick bcna"fix".We will be at my daughter's next week on a blow up mattress so can use her pc.Can't move into our new place till mid Sept.but that's ok.I am enjoying the freedom of not working-didn't think I'd get used to it so quickly. I hope you lovely brave ladies are all going ok with your treatments

After doing the same job for the last 15 years I handed in my resignation yesterday-just like that! I'm sick of it and felt I needed some "me"time.Over the last 4 years my long service leave has gone on 3 ankle operations,a mastectomy and chemo. So no,haven't really got to enjoy it have I.!! I"ve sold our house-2 storey and too much maintenance. We are now packing and cleaning. The furniture truck arrives next Tuesday to take all our stuff  into storage as our new single level home is not ready. So we will be homeless -indefinately!

I can't believe that one year has passed since I got the bc diagnosis and surgery.I am booked in for my mammo this Thursday and am already getting the jitters about it.I know from past experience that  this mammo can be an emotionally difficult one. So am keeping busy and hopefully will have good news after Thursday.

I had my hair coloured, streaked and trimmed just over a week ago and I feel so much better about myself.I've stopped wearing headbands which had become my security blanket. What you see on my head is 8mths worth of hair growth. It's been a long time coming!I'll be going for my mammogram soon -can't believe it's been a year since I was diagnosed(a second time). We have just had a wonderful week away to Ballina and Port Macquarie.Back to work tomorrow with my new look- first time without headbands!

hair saga

It has now been 8months since I had chemo. I think I've seen high rise buildings go up  quicker than my hair! I can't do anything with these chemo curls-they have a mind of their own.I look in the mirror and can hardly recognize myself.Wish I could embrace the new look and skip out the front door.I try but then chicken out and put on a headband.I have a drawer full of headbands now.I know I'm lucky to be alive and shouldn't be so vain. But somewhere along this journey of losing body bits and confidence,I lost the image that was "me".
