My story
My first diagnosis was in 1999 when I was 34 of invasive ductal breast cancer. I had a lumpectomy, chemotherapy & radiotherapy. I then had another primary diagnosis in 2007, this time Invasive lobular cancer, Treatment this time was bilateral mastectomy & chemotherapy. In May 2010 was diagnosed with secondary breast cancer, in the lymph nodes in my neck, with another round of chemotherapy, & another reuccurance in the neck in 2011 ~ this time radiotherapy.

"Think it Ovaries"
Well my BC journey continues. Found out recently that i have a lytic lesion on my spine (T12). Have started a monthly injection of Zometa & have swapped from aromasin to tamoxifen.
My oncologist suggested that I have my ovaries removed, as this being diagnoses no.5, & all the last four rounds have been hormone +.
Just wondering if others out there have been given the same advice & the verdict on operation & outcome. My GP is on leave at the moment & would just love some feedback to help decide.
Halfway
Hi All
I had a fabulous time in Bali (wish i was still there). I got stuck into radiotherapy as soon as i got back. I have passed the halfway mark, only 12 more zaps to go. Not too bad with the side effects yet, bit of a sore throat but that is manageable.
My next big hurdle is finding out test results for my dad today....lets hope its good news.
Take care all
Cheers Kerrie
i'm off to bali too...
Hi All
I'm off for 11 days of R&R on monday to sunny Bali. Then as soon as i get back i am straight back into 6 weeks of radiotherapy.
See you all when i get back....i will think of you whilst i'm sipping cocktails by the pool....lol
Cheers

Round four here I come
Well who's up for round four of treatment...not me really but that is what i am up for after this weeks news.
I had a couple of lumps appear in my neck not long after i finished treatment (oct '10) ~ had them removed last week & found out they were another reaccurance, same make up as last time. All other scan show that it hasent spread anywhere else so thats good news.
Will find out next week what the treatment plan will be, maybe a hit of radiotherapy to get rid of the little suckers once and for all.
Will keep you all posted.
Cheers for now
Liaison training
I was invited to talk to the new recruits for community liaison training yesterday. Had a great day ~ thanks Amanda, Janelle & Bernice for asking me to impart my wisdom from my training in August, & tell of all the things I have been upto since.
I also read my story for the first time out loud to an audience. That was a bit daunting at first but I think I did ok.
Great to see another enthusiastic bunch of women ready to get out there & spread the word about BCNA. I'm sure you will all do a wonderful job.
Cheers
Kerrie
