Hi, Recently been diagnosed with secondaries in the Bones(Quite extensive). After total mastectomy, finishing Chemo, Radiation and 6 years of Hormone treatment. I decided to stop the Hormone medication, this was 8 years ago.
Silly me, didn't like the hormone medication.
Now on various pain medication, and the Hormones again. The cancer is 100% hormone receptive, and bloods are showing a good response, too soon to compare scans to see if there is any improvement yet.
Would like to talk to others out there in the same position.
Oncologist is not giving away anything about prognosis. I need to talk to others, and see what hope is out there.
Ta
and look forward to any resonses.

Dear Shaz,
I am so sorry you have had to join the ranks of ABC women, but you will find good support through this site.
In regard to prognosis, it is important to remember we are all very different, even as we share the experience of secondaries. It is the uncertainty that is hard to live with; as Amanda has said in a post recently, nothing is black and white - we have to accept the shades of grey in between.
However, I understand that many women who have had a similar diagnosis, hormone receptive bone mets, have done very well. If you have to have any mets at all, these are the ones!!??!!
There are many of us "out there", living well and (hopefully) for a long time!
Best wishes.... Pam
Thanks
Hi Pam

Merry Christmas

Hi Shaz and welcome to the online network. If you need a hand finding your way around, just ask. :)
There is an online group you might be interested in connected with "Women Living with Advanced Breast Cancer" which is here: http://www.bcna.org.au/group/4218 - It's a private group so you'll need to request membership but there are 115 members for you to connect with.
