Launceston TASMANIA

Posted by belmckenna on 21 Feb 2013, 08:50AM

I have been on this website since November last year with breast cancer, and had great support from all the ladies who have sent wonderful messages.  They know how much it has meant to me and they have been friends when I have been quite isolated out here at home.  I am just wondering if there are any ladies who have been on this site lately who are from LAUNCESTON?  Or Tasmania, other than the couple who have told me already.  With 300 women per year being diagnosed with BC each year in TAS, surely there are more.  When I am well I will get to different meetings, but so far, the timing has been off and Ive managed 1 in 4 months!  May-be they just done use the internet!

Online support for Launceston, TAS

Hi Bel,

You may or may not be aware of the Breast Cancer Conference being held in Launceston in March? See a blog post from pisces_tas who is attending -  http://www.bcna.org.au/user/2956/blog/46160

However, in the mean time I have set up an online group for members from Launceston. This way you all have somewhere to connect and share experiences. I will make you the facilitator if you like? http://www.bcna.org.au/group/46537

I hope this helps. Cheers, Daina

Thank you lovely, I have had to cancel that, but because my chemo had that "hiccup" my time table has changed!  So I shall see if there are any tickets left!

If you do end up going I think you should come and find me. I will be travelling down from Melbourne to present on our website and online network.
