So today I have nipples again!
Last Wednesday I had my bilateral nipple reconstruction performed. All was pretty easy, an overnight stay in hospital, limited pain as I'm numb in the area anyway, just a bit sore where he tucked one saggy boobie up. But Panadol was all I needed to cope with after the first day.
Today I returned to my surgeon to have my dressings removed, which was bloody painful after the nurse ensured I was waterproof with lots of sticky plastic!!
But all was removed and I am amazed at the result, I now have nipples again!!
Nipple reconstruction
Hi, I'm about to have my nipples reconstructed in 1 month time and just wondering what to expect?
I had a bilateral mastectomy in July 2012 and silicon implants put in December, after being diagnosed with DCIS.
I feel that getting my nipples done will help me to feel normal again although I'm disappointed I have to wait 3-4 months for my tattooing!!
So how long did you take to recover?
Was there much pain involved in the surgery or the tattoo?
Is there much more scarring?
Any info that can be shared I'd be grateful for, thank you.

Arm feeling weird
I have this strange thing in my arm. In the inside of my elbow, I can see a vein, and then a line runs up from there, it's like an indentation in the skin, a groove. My arm sort of feels like a dead arm. Sometime around the vein gets puffy.
I've had 3 lymph nodes taken out back in July last year along with a bilateral mastectomy.
I have had a bIg week with work and was probably the most strenuous I've been since my op.
Do you think it's anything to worry about?

Silicon implant pain
I've had my implants in now for 3 weeks, after a mastectomy in July and expanders in straight away, after being diagnosed with DCIS.
My right implant is sore to touch, and also get sore when I lift my arm. When I mentioned it to my surgeon he said its probably my muscle, which I can understand for the pain that occurs when I move my arm, but the soreness to touch concerns me. Has anyone had any experience with this?
Reconstruction started
I had my reconstruction started yesterday, so my expanders came out and the implants have gone in. I've gone a 600 size, which is a C cup so smaller that the D I was. Doctor would like me to lose some weight so that the contours look better, so a big health and diet change is on the way.
I'm quite comfortable today, which. I'm surprised by, I have 2 drains which will come out this afternoon and then I can go home, yeah!!
Happy with the shape so far, and he trimmed my lumps under my arms, so it looks good. And I have a cleavage again!!
