Last appointment

I had the final visit to my radiation oncologist last Thursday....I felt thrilled to pass this last milestone.

My skin has healed really well and the tan has almost disappeared! Although I now have a baby pink nipple.

I've been quite fatigued for the past six weeks and the silliest things have made me anxious. But I feel like I've now turned a corner and I'm more optimistic.

Until my next mammogram....

Hi all,

It's now 11 days after the end of radiation. I have been reading a bit on here and I'm so greatful this website is here. Nearly constantly I keep getting told even though I'm at the end of active treatment "omg you are so brave/strong!" whenever I see anyone who knows what I'm going through.

I turned up for my usual pre-chemo consult with Gary, my oncologist.  He started off by mentioning my exploits after the last chemo, and then said “so no more chemo for you”.  None?   “None.”   That’s it?  “That’s it.”

Went and seen my oncologist today and my tumor markers- CA 15-3 have increased by 17 points, after previously going down 37 points. Should i be concerned that this may indicate its spreading? Pam

Tuesday 27th ... long awaited second meeting with McYummy & it's not the news we were hoping for.
The MRI test results shows the tumor is as large (2.5cm) as he suspected & group meeting of related specialists all agree that chemo is the way to tackle this first.
Although the invader itself is that size, the area affected is 5cm x 5.5cm & is growing. He can also feel something in a lymph gland.
So more tests & an appointment with the Oncologist to arrange... and this could take another 2-3 weeks.
I SPAT IT!!!!

just thought I should touch base. I dont get here too often these days! Im through my 6 rounds of chemo and  28 rad's. Trying to get life back to some kind of normal. Next month is my first mammogram since being diagnosed last year. I struggle a little with getting my head in the right space and not worry about what could be. Im just trying to live in the moment.
