I have enjoyed reading all the questions and asnwers regarding Tamoxifen.  I was diagonised in Jan 2012 with DCIS and undergone surgery and just completed 25 Radiotherapy treatments.  Now I am to see the Oncologist in a months time to decide about the next phase of treatment.

Hello, I met with a plastic & reconstructive surgeon yesterday to discuss my options for recon after having a mastectomy 3 years ago. It looks like I am a great candidate for a “Tram Flap” and a reduction on the other side. Really excited with the choice until we started to talk about the out of pocket dollars!! Surgery all up will cost around $25,000 but lucky I have private health so my out of pocket bill around $7,000 - $8,000.

Another round complete. Round 3 tomorrow.  Again I am back to feeling 90%.  This time was so much easier due to reduction in steroids, but still went numb from head to toe.  Makes life difficult and means I am isolated at home.

However, I have been able to get around without the headaches, limited nausea and have been able to eat - although I dont want to.

What I have learnt in the last two weeks:

My  family is fabulous and there is nothing they wouldnt do for me.  Always knew this but they are amazing.
