Celebrating Mother's Day
Hello everyone,
Mother's Day takes on a special significance after a breast cancer diagnosis. For some it will be a time to reflect and celebrate another year of survival since breast cancer, for others it will be a time to remember a loss in the family.
This will be my first mother's day since my diagnosis last June. I know I won't be getting breakfast in bed from my 2 children as I will be heading out to participate in the Mother's Day Classic!
Maxine shares her story in the media
BCNA CEO Maxine Morand shared her own personal breast cancer experience in the media last weekend.

New breast cancer research
New research from Cancer Research UK could revolutionise the way women with breast cancer are diagnosed and treated in the future, and lead to the development of new targeted treatments.
For more information on the reserach is available in the BCNA News.

New Year Better Year
Hi Everyone
I have just returned from a wonderful trip to Europe. The sort of trip you feel is very much needed after diagnosis and treatment for Breast Cancer. I didn't want my life to change and one of the things I greatly enjoy is skiing. My husband John and I just love skiing and travelling together.
We rode the highest cable car in Europe and breathed in the alpine air and the beauty of the landscape. I have attached a photo I have called 'on top of the world' which is taken on that peak.
Farewell, and thanks to you all!
I want to take this opportunity to thank all those people, and especially our BCNA women, for your support, encouragment and love over the years.
I have said on many occasions that my first advocacy thoughts following my diagnosis in 1993 were about improving a system that mostly didn't work for me. In my ignorance and naiveity, I didn't realised that in some ways this would be like turning around the Queen Mary!
Hi Everyone
Hi Everyone
Today is my 3rd official day as the new CEO of BCNA.
I have just finished a 2 week transition period with Lyn Swinburne which was a great opportunity to settle in and meet many people.
I was diagnosed with breast cancer in June this year and finished my radiotherapy at the end of September. Like many of you, I am now on hormone therapy and will be for the next five years.
Breast Cancer and Sexual Wellbeing - BCNA's new resource
I'm so pleased to let you know that BCNA has developed a new information booklet for women with breast cancer called Breast Cancer and Sexual Wellbeing.
We started to look in more detail at the impact of breast cancer on women's sexual wellbeing, after women had been contacting us, surprised and distressed at this unexpected consequence.
We wanted to better understand how many women were experiencing problems, and the type of issues they were experiencing. So we commissioned Professor Jane Ussher from the University of Western Sydney to conduct research for us.
