Another new triple negative member
Hi, like other posts, I also wish I had found this site 14 months ago when I was first diagnosed. Finally after lump removal (2 operations), 6 months of chemo, and 7 weeks radiation, I am starting to feel "normal" again. Back at work, kids happy and finally hair has started to grow back... I am already in the salon chair desperate for a cut and colour, I really missed my monthly chats with my hairdresser. Today my Aunt was diagnosed with Breast Cancer, thought I was starting to put it all behind me, and then it hits you again.
Another member for the group
Hello everyone
Yet another body for the triple negative group. I was diagnosed on 28 March with triple negative breast cancer. No lump to lump in 2 months. GP was fabulous, onto it straight away and had me booked in with a surgeon on the day of diagnosis. I am 46, no family history of breast cancer.
New to this group
Hi Ladies,
I am new to the Triple Negative Group. I wish I had found it 18 months ago when I was first diagnosed as I didn't really know anyone who had been diagnosed with TNBC. I found one lovely lady who became my email buddy during my treatment and that was great as we could compare how we felt and how we were doing. Anyway I am now finished with my treatment and life for me is pretty much back to normal. At last!!!
Roller Coaster
Hi ladies,
I have just joined the Triple Negative group - my first group, although I have had wonderful support from the BCNA general site.
3 weeks ago life was normal. Since then I have been diagnosed with Grade 3 fast-growing breast cancer, (3.5cms out of nowhere), and had bilateral mastectomies last Monday. The pathology result was Triple Negative. Thankfully my nodes weren't affected - he took 6 to check.
I came home from hospital on Friday, and see my doctor about chemo on Tuesday.
Newbee
Hi ladies. This is my first post. I hv read quite a few posts and it is very helpful to hear how others are going with the same diagnosis. I was diagnosed in Jan 12. Had a lumpectomy in Feb. 1 sentinel node (clear). Path report came back Triple neg - grade 3. So am having chemo then bilateral mastectomy & reconstruction. I hv started gene testing which will take 3-4 months. I had my 1st cycle of chemo last Friday - was ok until Tuesday!,! Next cycle 20 April. Any info etc greatly received.
Thanks - all a bit scary Jane x
nearly 12 months on
just thought I should touch base. I dont get here too often these days! Im through my 6 rounds of chemo and 28 rad's. Trying to get life back to some kind of normal. Next month is my first mammogram since being diagnosed last year. I struggle a little with getting my head in the right space and not worry about what could be. Im just trying to live in the moment.

New diagnosis
I have just been diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer. I'm 39yo and underwent surgery this week. I'm yet to see an oncologist but have been advised that it's most likely I'll have both chemo and radiotherapy as future treatments.
I have no family history and have read stuff about the gene testing but am finding it very confusing. I realize some women also elect to have a double mastectomy and their ovaries removed -is this after testing positive to the carrying the gene?
Obviously I wish I wasn't posting on this page but that's the hand I've been dealt.
Mums Diagnosis
Hi there, my Mum was diagnosed with TNBC just over 12mths ago, she had a macetomy & then chemo. They didn't give her Radiation treatment as she has a pace maker on the side she had the cancer & they said the risks outweighed the benefits. Mum was 72 when diagnosed & hadn't had a mamogram since turning 70 as she thought she didn't need to as they no longer sent reminder letters. Mum & my family didn't realise that after seventy there is a 1in 3 chance of getting breast cancer - this should be more widely advertised. Mums tumor was large - 3.3 by about 3.5 cm.
Genetic Variant
Hello Ladies I found out in May last year that I had breast cancer ( after having lost my sister to BC 10 years ago) and then found out it was triple negative. I have just gotten my results from the genetic testing and do not have a mutation for BRCA1 or 2 but have a variant in BRCA 2 which still gives me no answers. I guess if I had a yes/ no answer it would make the next lot of decisions clearer. I have had a mastectomy and 6 months of chemo and 25 rounds of radiation therapy and now face the decision to have the other breast removed along with my ovaries.
Triple Negative
Hi Ladies,
I am 43 and went through BC last year. I had a lumpectomy and 4 lymph nodes removed - thankfully it wasn't in any of them. It was a 3.5 cm tumour that just seemed to come out of nowhere.
The Triple Negative diagnosis was a little scary to start with but I have learnt more about it now and it is not that bad!!
