Consumer involvement

Our consumer representatives are called BCNA Advocates. Health organisations can request a BCNA Advocate to assist in developing responsive services, treatment and research.

Why involve a BCNA Advocate?

Including a woman who has experienced breast cancer and represents the views of women across Australia ensures the voices and opinions of people affected by breast cancer are sought, heard and valued. Advocates are informed on the issues raised by BCNA's members and will confidently engage in discussions with committee/group members. They contribute in a thoughtful manner, considering the views of all committee/group members. The most powerful way to bring about change is to hear from women's personal experience.
