BCNA remembers Nancy Dow, a member of the Advanced Breast Cancer Working Party, who passed away in June 2007. Originally from Victoria, Nancy moved to Northern NSW approximately 20 years ago with her three children. Nancy was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2002 and after an overseas trip in 2004 learnt that her breast cancer had returned in her liver and lungs.
Nancy continued to work part-time as a social worker in the local hospital and felt strongly about advocating for both herself and other women with secondary breast cancer in working towards improved quality of life. Nancy attended her local breast cancer support group and paddled with Dragon's Abreast in Queensland.
BCNA are thankful for Nancy's contribution to the Advanced Breast Cancer Working Party and her support of other women with secondary breast cancer.
