We have very sad news that Maggie McLean, an active member of BCNA, passed away on Sunday 1 July 2007. Maggie developed breast cancer in 1993 and had a second breast cancer diagnosis in 1994. She developed a primary lung cancer in 2000 and a secondary lung cancer in 2004.
Maggie attended BCNA's Still Making a Difference Conference in 2004, and also contributed to The Beacon magazine.
Maggie was the cousin of BCNA's Victorian State Representative, Gerda Evans. With Gerda and her sisters, Maggie was instrumental in advocating for women with breast cancer and spreading the word about BCNA over the years.
We are very grateful for Maggie's commitment and dedication to BCNA. She will be greatly missed.
