Can I get a sample copy of the My Journey Kit?
We provide a sample Kit free of charge to health professionals who treat and care for women newly diagnosed with breast cancer. To arrange for a Kit to be sent to you please call 1800 500 258 and speak to the My Journey Kit Program Coordinator.
Can I have a stock of Kits to give to women?
No. The reasons for us distributing the Kit directly to women include:
- to avoid duplication and ensure that each woman receives only one Kit.
- to ensure that the latest version has been provided by us. We update the contents on a regular basis.
- it gives us the opportunity to gather information to help us evaluate and monitor the distribution.
- to track where the Kits are going so that we can identify gaps and tailor our promotional strategies accordingly.
We encourage health professionals to display our promotional posters in their workplace and maintain a stock of promotional postcards that can be given to women at diagnosis.
How can I order promotional posters and postcards?
You can order the My Journey Kit promotional posters and postcards online, or you can call us on 1800 500 258 or email us at

Why is NBCC's book, A Guide for Women with Early Breast Cancer included?
This booklet is included because we believe it is such an important resource for women to have. The My Journey Kit Information Guide also refers to chapters within The NBCC's booklet.
How can I get a service or resource added to the state-based resource sheets?
We produce these sheets in-house so they can be updated quite easily. If you know of a resource that has been particularly helpful to others with breast cancer, please let us know about it by either calling us on 1800 500 258 or emailing us at

. We would then consider theis resource for inclusion on future sheets for that state/territory.
Why did you include the lymphoedema brochure?
For many women the concern about lymphoedema is so great that it can influence their decision about surgery. BCNA receives calls from women who are making decisions about surgery and want to know more about lymphoedema to inform their choice - they are also asking questions about sentinel node biopsy and obviously this decision needs to be made pre-surgery. We suggest you tell your clients that the brochure is there and they can look at it when they are ready to do so. That way they know they have it there and don't have to look at it until later if they don't want to. Including the brochure in the Kit means the women have the choice to read or not. Women need to know about lymphoedema before they consent to axillary clearance. Unfortunately, we do still hear from women who say they were never told about lymphoedema - before or after surgery.
