Patricia Edgar, AM (Chair)

An author with eight books to her credit, Patricia is best known for her work in children's television.  She was Chair of the Australian Broadcasting Tribunal Children's Program Committee and Founding Director of the Australian Children's Television Foundation for over 20 years. Patricia is currently Chair of The Moving Image Foundation (ACMI) and the World Summit on Media for Children Foundation. Patricia was diagnosed with breast cancer in 1988.

 Mr Andrew Barling
Andrew Barling

Andrew is a surgeon working in both rural Victoria and metropolitan Melbourne. In 2000, he established the Otis Foundation, which provides free rural respite for women with breast cancer. Andrew lost his first wife, Judy Burley, to breast cancer in 2000.

Fran Boyle, AM

Fran is the Associate Professor of Medical Oncology, University of Sydney and Director, Patricia Ritchie Centre for Cancer Care and Research, The Mater Hospital. She is also Chair of the Scientific Advisory Committee of the ANZ Breast Cancer Trials Group and a Member of the National Breast and Ovarian Cancer Centre Board.  Fran is well-known for her contributions to breast cancer research, policy and education and for advocacy on behalf of women with breast cancer. 

 Ms Raylene Boyle
Raelene Boyle, AM MBE

As a Track and Field athlete, Raelene represented Australia at four Olympic Games. She has won three Olympic Silver Medals, seven Commonwealth Gold Medals and two Commonwealth Silver Medals. In 2007, she was made a Member of the Order of Australia in recognition of her work with cancer organisations, particularly Breast Cancer Network Australia. Raelene is one of the National Trust's 100 Living Treasures, a member of the Sport Australia Hall of Fame and of the Australian Track and Field Hall of Fame. Raelene was diagnosed with breast cancer in 1996.

Terry Bracks (Deputy Chair)

Terry has worked in education and political spheres and takes an active role in many community, arts and social issues. She is Patron of  Heide Gallery, a Board member of the Australian Children's Television Foundation and the East Timor Friendship Schools Project and Founding Chair of Western Chances in Melbourne's western suburbs.

 Mr Ron Dewhurst
Ron Dewhurst

Ron has worked in investment management and investment banking fields for over 30 years.  He is currently Senior Managing Director and Head of International Asset Management with Legg Mason, Inc. He was formerly Head of Americas for JPMorgan Asset Management and CEO of IOOF Holdings. Ron is also a Trustee of the National Gallery of Victoria.

 Karen Hayes

Karen Hayes

Karen Hayes has extensive general management and strategic consulting experience in Australasia, Canada, the United States and many European countries, primarily in the financial services and information technology industries. From 1998 to 2006 Karen was the CEO of Planpower, a provider of project management and training services in Australia and one of 15 Business Units of the ASX300 Business Solutions Group, UXC. In October 2006 Karen was appointed to the role of Director Corporate Engagement and Human Capital with UXC Limited. Karen was a finalist in the 2004 Telstra Business Woman of the Year Awards and in January 2006 she was appointed to the Board of the Melbourne Football Club. Karen was diagnosed with breast cancer in 1996.

 Suzie Howie
Suzie Howie

Beginning as a publicist with Michael Edgley International, Suzie has worked on more than 700 comedies, musicals, dramas, films, opera and cultural events. From 1985 with her own PR company, Howie & Taylor Publicity, she has presented productions including Cats, The Phantom of the Opera, Les Miserables, Mamma Mia and Guys and Dolls in Australia and Asia. Suzie was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2004.

Andrea Hull, AO

Andrea is CEO and Director of the Victorian College of the Arts, in Melbourne.  She has a background in cultural policy and programs at international, federal and state levels. She is also a Board Member of the Melbourne Theatre Company and a Board member of the Abbotsford Convent Foundation - a large community project.  Andrea was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2006.

 Marg O'Donnell
Marg O'Donnell

 

Marg is a qualified social worker who has spent much of her career with the Queensland Public Service, including six years as Director-General of three State Government departments.  She was also the Inaugural Legal Ombudsman in Victoria.  She currently works as a consultant and is Chair of Legal Aid Queensland, and the Australian Festival of Chamber Music. Marg was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2003.

 Mrs Joyclyn Newman
Jocelyn Newman, AO

Lawyer, businesswoman, farmer, community worker and politician, Jocelyn was elected to Federal Parliament as a Senator for Tasmania in 1986 and was a member of the Federal Cabinet from 1996-2001. She was a member of  the National Breast and Ovarian Cancer Centre Board from 2004-2007 and is currently a Member of the Advisory Council of Cancer Australia. Jocelyn was diagnosed with breast cancer in 1994.

 
Gabrielle Trainor

A lawyer and former journalist and public sector executive, Gabrielle is a non-executive director and founding partner of John Connolly & Partners, a special issues management firm. She is a director of the Victorian Urban Development Authority (VicUrban), the Sydney Harbour Foreshore Authority and the Sydney Symphony Orchestra.
