For the past 8 years Mini-Fields of Women have been held in communities across Australia during October as part of Australia's breast cancer month.
In 2008 the Mini-fields of Women will again be a special way for BCNA Members and Member Groups to link people together to support and pay tribute to local women with breast cancer.
The sight of 100 Pink Lady silhouettes staged and presented at these events is a powerful reminder of the central focus of a Mini-Field - the woman affected by breast cancer in the community. This is a unique opportunity to bring the community together and also to promote the work of Breast Cancer Network Australia. Breast care nurses and support groups also use this occasion to promote their own activities and services within their local area.
BCNA will support your decision to organise a Mini-Field of Women and provide you with a resource kit called an 'Event in a Box'. The box will contain 100 silhouettes, BCNA resources, invitations and helpful hints for running your event.
In 2008 Mini-Fields of Women will be sponsored by BCNA's major partner Bakers Delight and Australia Post. Coordinators are encouraged to approach their local Bakers Delight along with other local businesses to generate in-kind support for their mini-field.
