If you have just been diagnosed, we wish you the very best with your journey through breast cancer.

You will probably be offered lots of advice.  We suggest you 

  • think about what you need to get you through this time
  • be an active participant in your health care
  • get the information you need to manage your health in the best way for you
  • take one step at a time
  • ask questions, until you understand the answers
  • don't rush your decisions
  • speak up if  you have concerns or questions
  • consider taking someone close to you to medical appointments
  • find a medical team that will work for and with you
  • don't be afraid to ask for help
  • be gentle on yourself
  • focus on recovery.

    BCNA supply a range of free resources to support women who are newly diagnosed with breast cancer.

    The My Journey Kit is a comprehensive information resource for women newly diagnosed with breast cancer. It is full of practical information, contacts and tips from women who have been through the experience of breast cancer treatment and recovery. For more information, click here.

    The My Care Kit contains a specially designed Berlei bra and soft form/s (if required) for women who have recently had breast cancer surgery The bra features seams and lining that avoid pressure, extra hooks and eyes in the back to allow for any swelling, and soft form inserts that can be modified to size, in a style that caters for support and comfort. It is designed to cover the post surgery period of up to 12 weeks and can be worn during radiation treatment. For more information, click here.
